VTUK Goes Green
 
VTUK, the UK’s largest independent property management software supplier, is leading the way in combating climate change by embracing the Government’s Act on CO2 initiative to become a carbon neutral business.

VTUK has implemented a range of initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint, including reducing paper usage, printing and other carbon deficit elements via our software solutions, in addition to taking up the Act on CO2 initiative.

Climate change is a growing concern, and the UK has pledged to cut carbon emissions by 34 per cent over the next ten years. The UK’s housing industry has a vital role to play in making this happen, with households in the UK accounting for a whopping 28 per cent of the national CO2 emissions total, an average of six tonnes of CO2 emissions per household per year.

The property industry, on both the construction and maintenance sides, has already set goals and launched schemes to reduce CO2 emissions, ranging from the Department for Communities and Local Government’s target to build 240,000 carbon neutral homes a year by 2016 to the recent introduction of the boiler scrappage scheme earlier this month, aimed at reducing CO2 emissions from homes by around 140,000 tonnes.
