Questions?

As the festive month begins, the VTUK tribe have rounded up the very best apps from Apple’s App Store and Google’s Google Play. Whether you’re in the office, conducting a viewing or progressing a sale, here’s four apps your letting or estate agency should begin to utilise throughout the Christmas period.

Checkon.me (App Store/Google Play - 30 Day Free Trial / £3 per agent per month thereafter)

Checkon.me allows your staff to keep safe whilst working alone. Staff member’s attending a meeting or viewing alone can simply check in once they reach their desired location. Should the employee fail to check in, a notification is sent out to their emergency contact, alerting them of their failure to check in. As well as the check in feature, the app allows the user to send out emergency SOS messages with their desired location, should they be in a threatening situation, via the app’s in-built alarm. As the dark winter nights draw in, Checkon.me is the perfect app for keeping your staff safe.

Hootsuite (App Store/Google Play – Free *Upgrade Plans Are Available*)

Going on a winter trip this Christmas? Struggling to find time to manage your social media? Hootsuite is your answer. The app itself allows you to schedule social media to be published on Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Instagram, Wordpress and YouTube. As well as scheduling posts, you’re also able to monitor a particular keyword across social media. Hootsuite allows you to see a stream of keywords and content you can respond to directly from Hootsuite. The app also comes in a desktop form so if you prefer a larger screen, Hootsuite can be accessed via PC.

Snapchat (App Store/Google Play - Free)

Set your agency up on the social media platform, Snapchat. Snapchat’s new feature Snap Map, allows you to see a map of your connections whereabouts in real-time, giving you an idea of what your community’s up to, whilst potentially working as an innovative marketing tool. Every user of Snapchat is asked to create a 3D avatar, giving you a chance to identify users individually. By creating your own 3D avatar, you’ll also be able to notify the local community if you’re at a particular event or location, encouraging other Snapchat users to visit you. Alternatively, if you’re in the office you’ll be able to see who’s nearby giving you the option to interact with them.

Microsoft Teams (App Store/Google Play – Free/Office 365 Subscription Required)

Have an existing Office 365 subscription? Want total transparency in your agency? Microsoft Teams works in similarity to Skype, giving you access to a chat-centred workspace where you can instantly contact all of your team. As well as chatting via messenger, you’ll also have the ability to conduct meetings with each other via Microsoft’s built in video calling feature. As well as this, Microsoft Teams allows you to store all your company’s documentation in one place allowing every staff member to see a tenancy document at any time.  When it comes to security, Microsoft’s entry level compliance gives you peace of mind that your documents will be safe. Microsoft Teams is also available via desktop as well as a dedicated mobile app.
